digitalWrite pins 0 and 1

Hello I am trying to use the digital pins 0 and 1 (RX, TX) like one of the other ones. I upload the program led blink but with led_pin = 0. Then I reset the board, desconect the USB cable but the pin doesn´t blink. Any help? I have to use pins 0 and 1because I need at least 13 OUTPUT digital pins for my installation.

Any help?

I found that , but doesnt solve my problem.

I think you have to turn off the serial port before you can use pins 0 and 1 as normal digital pins. Try adding this to your setup:

      outb(UCSRB, 0);

It doesnt compile.

In function 'void setup()': error: 'outb' was not declared in this scope

:(

Whoops, try instead:

UCSRB = 0;

neither does it.

In function 'void setup()': error: 'UCSRB' was not declared in this scope

If you're using an ATmega168, you'll need to use this instead:

UCSR0B = 0;

If you're using an ATmega8, it's strange that it doesn't work. Which version of Arduino are you using?

Great Did work. I own u one. :D
