Dimming a Plumen?

Hi there,

I am looking to dim a Plumen LED bulb with a potentiometer and an Arduino Uno.

Could someone possible point me in the right direction? What power source will be necessary?

Thanks in advance!

Ben

OK, I could be wrong but ...

As best I can see, a "Plumen" (which I had never seen before but is very clever) is not a LED globe but a CF - Compact Fluorescent.

Barking up a very wrong tree here. An Arduino is a microntroller, not a mains voltage light dimmer.

It runs from the 240V mains.

Yes, if you can find some actual specifications and verify that the Plumen device is specified as "dimmable" with a phase dimmer, go out and buy a dimmer at the hardware shop. If it does not clearly specify "dimmable", then - it is not.

And indeed the website specifies "Non-Dimmable".

Rip off for what it is...

CFL's have been around for almost as long as the bulb has! Use an LED globe for that kind of money.

Oh, they will sell you those too - for a not dissimilar price ...

Or a genuine "Edison style" bulb - have you seen those in the restaurants with the glowing orange zig-zag filaments?
