I am a newbie in electronics and am just starting to play with robotics.
I need to purchase some flyback diodes for a motor circuit and thought it is probably a good time to get a bunch of diodes of various types as backup for when I may need some for another project, saving shipping charges.
I wonder if anyone would be so kind as to suggest the types and count of diodes one may wish to have in stock.
I have not done much in the way of motor applications but here are the diodes I use
on the various http://www.wiblocks.com boards
1N4148 (DO41) -- general purpose glass diode -- protection for uC reset pin, small relay coils
BAT41 (DO41)-- Schottky, low Vf -- used for diode or'ing coincell on my RTC boards
MBR1545CTG (TO220) -- dual diode, 15A, 30V -- used for diode or'ing power sources on a number of boards
I also use On-Semi MBRS SMD Schottky diodes for various power converters.
