DIrect IR Signal

Hi!

I'm working on a project where I'm sending some IR signals to an stb. Do you suggest any approach or some hardware piece so I can direct the signal only to the box the IR sender is pointed at?
Because I have more stbs below and they're receiving the signal too. I don't want that.

The approach I know is to put the IR sender close to the set top box so it can't interfere with other boxes.

Once I found a "IR blocker" that only allowed the signal to go in one direction, but can't find it anymore. If you know something about this please let me know.

Thanks

Light scatter is going to be tough to deal with even with a throw-focused flashlight reflector or some such. Not sure how close the other stbs are, but if you want a narrow beam aimed at a tiny sensor, you might need an IR laser. Also, what is an stb?

Nice thanks.

Set-top box (STB).
