Disabling YUN bridge

Hello,

Does anybody know how to disable the YUN serial bridge so that i can write my own serial communication between Arduino and the Linux?

I saw a post that said to comment out a line in inittab

#::askconsole:/usr/libexec/login.sh (prepend with # in order to disable)I tried commenting out

I tried that and it worked for a while, and then suddenly it stopped working and went back to no communication, i dont know what changed.

Right now im in a loop in the arduino constantly sending a 'v' character, and on the linux site i have
cat /dev/ttyATH0
but i see nothing.

Why does the makers of Arduino make it so difficult to do anything? are they trying to prevent us using their products? Dont they think there will be people who DONT WANT to use their serial bridge and instead use their own program to use the serial port?

Also they give like zero help with anything, this is the first company i seen that gives ABSOLUTE ZERO technical support. I sent them an email asking a simple question, they replied a MONTH LATER with a simplistic general answer basically saying nothing. Wow after a month they basically sent a generic email with no information at all, how cool is that! Do they think we have years to wait to do a project? I would gladly PAY for technical support if they have that, but.... whatever, thats life....
