HI.
This thread has disappeared from the list of threads if you enter the Dutch section.
It should be on top, because i replied to it yesterday.
I answered to someone about I2C device designations and what i think about the need some people seem to feel to change that.
I can't imagine i offended someone, but i'm afraid this thread was policed by this new system because the person that replied before me reactivated that thread with his remark.
If so, what about the other threads that mention these very common electronics designations ?
Are or will they all be removed from eyesight ?
Hi MAS3. It shows up for me right near the top:
Do you still not see it there?
I can't see that there have been any moderation actions (including the automated system) on either the thread or your post, but I'm also still not super experienced with the new moderation interface so I might be missing something.
I see the same as @pert.
I however noticed that you have unpinned (at least) one thread; maybe that causes the problem? I did try to simulate but the DS3231 did not disappear so it's probably not the case.
I have never unpinned any threads.
I did reply in that thread, telling that the thread was rendered useless because of this new forum mess.
I just put the pin back in by the way.
For some reason said thread was muted, making it disappear to me.
I can't remember doing that, and i can't imagine wanting to do that to an active thread i'm participating in.
I wonder if you accidentally triggered the keyboard shortcut for Mute? It turns out it's disturbingly easy to do:
Just hit "m" key twice and the post goes bye-bye.
And now the big question is if you got it back and, if so, how?
I did the exercise of muting the same thread but can't find a way to undo
Never mind
Search the Dutch forum using the search and it will show and you can view it; from there, unmute it.
@sterretje:
I was able to find the thread because i linked to it in this thread.
That way it was possible to unmute it.
@pert:
I hope that shortcut doesn't happen while typing replies.
There's lots of words that have "mm" in them.
This shortcut is too easy to type by accident.
Shortcuts should be deliberate actions, not some actions one could make by accident.
Even worse:
Typing mm while watching the thread (not while one is in this edit window) will instantly mute the thread.
Typing mm again will not unmute it.
Typing um (for unmute) will also not unmute it, but will take you back to some previous page.
Typing u does immediately take you back to the page you visited before.
Why ?
I have the backspace key for that.
No. They don't happen when the post composer editor field has focus.
You can get the full list of keyboard shortcuts via the ? keyboard shortcut, or the "Keyboard Shortcuts" item in the "hamburger" menu at to top right of the forum website.
