Creating filename using string or char

I am making a simple datalogger with a SD card. The idea is that every time the Arduino starts it will make a new logfile fx. sernsor1.txt, sensor2.txt and so on. Therefore I have a file containing the last number used, but the problem is that something is wrong in the way I make the filename. In the sketch below i use a String concatenating including the nummber, but the file.open fails because the format of the filename is wrong. Hello, I am trying to create a new TXT file on my SD card with a variable name that the user enters into the Serial Monitor. I have searched around and have realized that you need to use a char array, not String, for a file name. I have the user input a string to Serial monitor, then add ".txt" and then use toCharArray to change the string into a character array -- then want to use that name to create a new TXT file and store data in there.
