Display line numbers in IDE editor version 1.0.5 ?

Found some code ( 2013 version?) and "new feature " in 1.5.0 to display line numbers in editor.
Is there such option in 1.0.5? Nothing in preferences.txt and Google did not help either..
And NO, I am not talking about the line number in the bottom status bar.

Looks like no then....

If line numbers are important to the way that you work you could always use an external editor for which there is an option in File/Preferences

I'm using 1.5.6 r2 all the time now without any problems. However I do my editing in Gedit.

...R

Thanks for replies.
I did not know you can use 1.5.6 on Uno, good point.
I suppose you do not need editor lines on simple project, but...

I am still struggling with making ATmel Studio not to crash my OS, but running out of time and patience.
Like to code and not spending time troubleshooting tools, but getting closer.

Your instructions are for Arduino IDE version 1.8.12, the OP asked about version 1.0.5, which was at the time an older version six years ago when the question was asked.
