Hello. I would like to ask on what is the best dissolved oxygen sensor that I could use that can last for about 6 months of continuous operation and continuously submerged in clean pond. I am planning to interface it with esp wroom 32 and monitor my pond for research purposes.
Best to consult pond specialists. Bacterial mats are unavoidable and over the long run, will interfere with the operation of a continuously submerged sensor.
We used the Atlas Scientific EZO series. They also have less expensive versions.
Thank you! which one would you recommend?
It was several years ago so I don't know if that particular probe is still available. It would be something like the lab grade one. We used the EZO-DO interface along with an electrically isolated carrier board.
We found their equipment worked as advertised and was well supported.
We were building several river water quality measurement systems for teaching use in the $1000 to $1500 range. The purpose was for greater student accessibility than the $20,000 research equipment. (I was working with my brother, a college professor, who got a grant for the project.) It measured PH, DO, conductivity and temperature. This is out of the range of the hobbyist, but they do have some less expensive devices.
