Distance measurement with lora

I want to detect the location within a certain area with Lora, but I don't know how to do this.

2.4Ghz LoRa can do distance measurement, its been tested up to 89km.

Though not very stable distance measurments below 100m or so.

UHF LoRa cannot do distance measurements directly.

Maybe use a GPS if its all outdoors.

We have Ra-01, it also has GPS, but we want to use LoRa, we have set up the system and are looking for the code.

Cannot make sense of that.

You want to use LoRa but with no GPS ?

Maybe explain what your project actually is and how much code you have already written.

No, you misunderstood, we have GPS, but since the project is about underground, we will use LoRa.

LoRa wont work very far at all underground.

You need to explain your actual project, its a waste of time just posting little snippets of information.

We aim to make a LoRaWAN based mining helmet

Underground LoRa would only work in a large cavern where the helmets were within visual sight of each other.

And the LoRa you are using cannot measure distance.

Good luck.

The code is between your ears, you have to get it from your brain to the screen.

I'm only 16 so that's why I asked for help

As well as asking for help. you are also expected to do 90% of the work. Start by stating the requirements. That is done using proper English and should not include any kind of bias towards a solution. Tell us what you want to do and what you expect, if that requires GPS or LORA it will eventually become apparent. Once you have the code done which may need debugging and a wiring diagram then we can help you. We are not here to do it for you.

start by doing a web search for underground radio communication
you will get plenty of links
