DIY FFB steering wheel

Hello. I want to buid a forcefeedback steering wheel. I search on YouTube how;I find how, I install firmware in leonardo. When I connect encoder to board, in the soft (ai wave wheel config) i get an error : "wheel error" or "calibration error" . I do anythink correct. What can be the problem?
PS: I have a two phase encoder and I using a wire to conect pin 6 to GDN.
