DIY motor speed control MOSFET or IGBT

Hi all,

Looking at making my own speed controller for a 24v 250W fan.

Relays are a possibility but I think solid state would be preferable.

I have at hand some RU190N10R Mosfets (http://www.ruichips.com/pic/RU190N10R.pdf) and some G80N60UFD IGBT's (HTTP 301 This page has been moved).

I'm a little confused (too much googling) as to which way to go and would these be suitable.

I am going to try this with the RU190N10Rand a 24v motor.

I am a bit concerned about the wiring size.

Any thoughts?
