Do I need a Capacitor for my 1m 60leds WS2812b ?

I want to buy a led strip : 1 m with 60leds and WS2812b of course.
Now I want to control the led strip with my phone via WiFi.
So I think I have to buy this led strip:

and this nodemcu v3 for the "wifi part" :

I read a lot about buying capacitors for led-strip protection.....Now I wonder whether I need a 1000uF capacitor for my 1m led strip?

Follow the setup as seen below, observe capacitor and power supply polarity.

.

What is that little adapter thing down there? I've never seen it and I'm sure I don't have such a thing at home. I'm talking about that green thing with the two screws on it.

And btw I don't have any 5V DC Powersupply, just either 11V or 12V (Cables) with 1.5A Output for 12V.

I have no clue where I could find a Power Supply like a battery or a powerbank that I could somehow connect to the strip and nodemcu.

I have a breadboard and a lot of resistor ranging between 1 - 1M Ohm if that helps.

Close bycause crososting
