I am new to projects with arduino. I'm doing a project and I want to control an engine with an Arduino MKR WAN 1300 (LoRa connectivity). The idea is to have a node connected to the engine and another node connected to a pc and control it from the pc. I will need an arduino board to communicate with the MKR WAN 1300 node and the engine or I can communicate directly, since I understand the node is programmable.
It is best to start with the simple examples that come with Arduino: blink an LED, read a button, a voltage, temperature or light levels, etc., in order to learn the language and special features of the Arduino.
If you don't, expect endless frustration with the rather complex project you have in mind.

Is your background equal to the task? If not then first project is to get background. You can get there with enough effort.
any particular reason to use Lora to communicate with your PC?
are you planning to use Lora peer-to-peer or LoraWAN protocol?
why not use WiFi, e.g. MKR1000 or NodeMCU
