# Does a MOS-FET with integrated freewheeling-diode need another external freewheeling diode

Stefan, you apparently do not understand what a "freewheeling-diode" **does**.

Perhaps you need to research it a bit - [this thread](https://forum.arduino.cc/t/flyback-diodes-and-why-you-need-them-comments-here-please/675412/12) and [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flyback_diode) may I hope, help.
