does an 5 line sensor array work in the dark?

hey every one, i am building a grid solving bot for which i am using the following 5 line sensor array

i just wanted to know if the ambient light plays any role in the sensor detecting a white line from the black background.

this info will help me decide the structure of my bot.

The manual says that the detectors have a daylight blocking filter built in so it looks like ambient light shouldn't have an effect.
