But only unipolar steppers like 28BYJ-48. You cannot drive bipolar steppers with this board.

The ULN200x chips were originally made to drive solenoids and relays. They have built in flyback diodes.
For exaample, they were used, back in the day, to interface old teretype machines to early microcontrollers to make printers.
