yes, the arduino will run your program when powered by battery,
although, like when you boot up a p.c,
and it takes a few minutes,
the arduino will take about a 2 second delay.

If you install optiboot (bootloader, as used in the standard Uno board) it doesn't wait on power-on, only on reset.
yes i did understand it, but factory arduino's don't have optiboot.
also the person who started this topic obviously did'nt have optiboot, as he hardly knew if it had a delay or not, dont mean to be rude, sorry if i did offend you,
just replying to justify my earlier reply to this topic
