does "expanding" type pogo pin exist?

Is anyone aware of a kind of 'quick disconnect" pin that would be able to enter a standard PCB hole and expand to make contact with it? Something like a miniature banana plug.

You mean something like this?......

Although, the male part doesn't appear to be the banana plug in that diagram.

The issue with producing miniature banana male plug is maybe due to not being able to get enough spring strength .... due to the relatively small dimensions and not being able to get enough spring force.

Also, a pcb hole has limited hole depth. It's not like a regular banana plug hole, which has adequate depth to get some nice function etc for the male plug to wedge itself into there.

Yes something like that with a male springy-end. One could just bend a piece of wire over but there has to be something better for temporary connections w/o solder?

If you can press the PCB down, there are Pogo bins with large conical heads that can make contact on pcb holes.

Here it is:

They work pretty well. The only problem I have found is that if you're not careful when removing it from the hole the hook part can catch the edge of the PCB and get bent.

There are a lot of "press fit" connectors, but they're not designed to be removed again...
I don't think anything designed to be removable (aside from the "larger than the actual hold conical pogo pin.")

westfw - is that photo a semi-removable one as you are alluding to?

ElCaron - I have pogo pins, but fixtures are often fiddly, looking for a better solution.

pert - suwheat! I ordered these as soon as I read the hack! thanks!

What would you call a "standard PCB hole" though?

I think .8mm for .1" headers?

How about a screw shield?
I offer them for both Uno and Mega, and a '1284P version with the terminals integrated:

These pins:

Are perfectly good for a variety of common hole sizes.
