Dome Button

Hi All,

I'm a complete novice when it comes to programming so apologies if this is very simple.

I've got a sparkfun dome push button that I want to use to trigger a photo booth. I've managed to wire up the LED to a 12v connector and set it as push to break (i'm going to hopefully set it to pulse after a certain period of inactivity) but I can't figure out how to connect to the arduino without frying it (which I've done to one already).

On pushing the button it should send a keyboard request to the laptop to start the process of capturing the images.

Has anyone done similar or any advise welcome.

Many thanks Ciaran

A button or have you fried an Arduino? That takes some doing.

Have a read about how to treat inputs:- http://www.thebox.myzen.co.uk/Tutorial/Inputs.html

I suggest you use a circuit like this: |500x437

You can use any ordinary NPN transistor (but not a power transistor).
