Don't buy Nicla Sense ME

Don't buy the Nicla series device if you can. Or at least, don't rely on it. Before, I needed a previous version of Bosch AI Studio software, which caused me to waste 1.5 months asking anyone to send it to me. Now, 2 weeks left to my master's thesis, the USB port has become unresponsive for no reason (of this 90 EUR device!) and I can't even find an answer on the whole internet to a simple question like how I can connect an external programmer to it. Because of this, I cannot finish my master's thesis on time and cannot publish a paper on a journal.

This device is very powerful from a hardware functionality side, but the software and community support is very weak.

have you contacted Arduino?

in their product page they state

Need Help?

Check the Arduino Forum for questions about the Arduino Language, or how to make your own Projects with Arduino. If you need any help with your board, please get in touch with the official Arduino User Support as explained in our Contact Us page

there is information as well here

have you studied the examples?

(I don't have this board)

I tried to contact the help page before for another issue, but they just referred me to the community page

The examples are very shallow, they did not bother to create an extensive information page.

But thanks, I tried to contact them, maybe they will help this time

I know it's late in your master's thesis...but consider purchasing a Muse by 221e.com.... I have had much more success with this IoT than the Nicla Sense ME

Why didn’t you switch sensors or build a plan B when you faced the issues? If you still have 2 weeks, lots can be done…

Hi @Eldar0101. I'm sorry you haven't been satisfied with your Nicla Sense ME board.

I'm not sure I understood correctly what you mean by this. Please provide a more detailed description of what you mean by this in a reply on this forum thread to help us to understand it, including the following information:

  • What did you do?
  • What were the results you expected from doing that thing?
  • What were the results you observed that did not match your expectations?

Make sure to include the full and exact text of any error or warning messages you might have encountered.
