Hehe. I thought of that too when I heard about the Lillypad.
It would be safer than using breadboards though.
I saw that, and immediately registered

Not sure what to do with it. Registering domains is easy, but then there's the work Any ideas? I had thought of getting in touch with that girl and seeing if she wants the domain to use for fundraising defense $.

Buy/Make a T-shirt to support Star
Westfw,
yes i saw that too.
I tired to find Star's email address to offer her the domain, but no luck. If anyone has it, message me.

In this day and age isn't it obvious that such a device could be construed as possibly dangerous by typical brutes working security there???
Perhaps a course in common sense is in order... ;D
Anecdote ahead....
When this happened my officemate started reading the story to me, and got to the point where he mentioned that she had a breadboard on her shirt and I said, "A breadboard on the outside of her shirt?!?! What is she, a freshman?!?!" Turns out she was if I remember right.
Yea, total lack of common sense in evidence.
wow, tape a breadboard to your shirt, thats not a smart idea, maybe tape it on the inside of the shirt and make little holes for the electronics so it doesent look so blatenly obvious your crazy! lol
i like the idea, but if the breadboard was not there, and the battery was not hanging out, she would not be in this situation, she should have though about this one more carefully!

I'd just put the image from instructables up. /shrugs
Put up a guerrilla breadboarding site. Don't tell anyone what that means just put up a discussion forum with moderate moderation.
My first idea? Find a narrow walk way and put up a pedestrian stop light on both ends timed to only let people walk one way at a time. Film how people handle that.

actualy, from more then 5 or so feet away, to me that would instantly register as a block of c4 with an indicator light and a 9v battery as means of detination. alot of these security guards are former military and if i had been in iraq or afganistan, i probobly would have reacted the same, if not worse to somthing that looked like abomb.
"One clarification: Simpson did answer the original information desk staffer's question about what the art was. That there's no step between an answer that wasn't believed and guns drawn is a big issue to me. Innocent people will get killed this way. "
does this mean i can take a fake ak47 and walk into a airport and claim that its art too? and i am compleatly unliable and will be totaly supported if those over zelouse security guards arrest me?
love this one quote from the comments
"I can't believe anyone in their right mind is calling her an idiot.
She wore a piece of home-made, electronic jewellery to an airport. If she wore that same piece of jewellery to say, the bus-station... would a guy run out with a machine gun to pop 100 bullets in her head? It is absolutely ludicrous.
I'm willing to bet the whole putty on her hands thing was made-up to justify the insane over reaction.
I don't understand why there isn't an outcry, questioning the competency of these trigger happy, security guards. In my opinion, they should be fired as should their superior officers for letting something this embarrassing happen."
is america this stupid??? are we this affraid of being gunned down in airports by our own security guards? does this person realy think the security guards would run into an open crowd and gun down 100 civilians? do they not know you can fire an automatic wepon without emptying the entire clip? or that a sub machine gun, unlike a 9mm holow point pistol doesnt have a limited accurate range of 25 yards or less? people like this make me question myself on why I actualy like america. its realy sad that they have to judge everything a trained proffesional does as wrong or trigger happy... they didnt even shoot the girl.

Only in the movies do bombs have flashing lights and wires everywhere. :-?
If I was going to bomb a airport, I certainly wouldnt dangle batteries and breadboards around myself.
lol good point
Well the good news is that they dont mind it if you put your Arduino in your suitcase. ;D
Just got back from Turkey yesterday with my Arduino and several protoboards in my suitcase.
My head hurts. Damn jetlag.
