When i plug my usb into pc windows does not try to install drivers with fail ! It does nothing? The board does have power coming from it . I look under device manager and only see LPT COMM PORT Arduino is not there . If i then uninstall this it initially comes up with unknown device then reverts back to usb device ? Any ideas ?
No ideas.
You are going to have to give us some more clues, like:
What board?
Where did you get it from?
Have you tried to locate drivers for that specific board?
Hi thanx mate ok I have multiwii328p fcb for quadcopter i installed Arduino onto my pc running win 7 . When i connect the usb cable to pc the board powers up ! The windows pc screen does not try to install drivers ! When i go into device manager under LPT COM Arduino is not there as an option. I saw a vid on youtube a guy installed a compaq modem driver as this uses the same driver ?
Outstanding.
So you have answered question 1.
That leaves:
Where did you get it from?
Have you tried to locate drivers for that specific board?
Links to the actual board may help.
Hi got board from hobbyking no havent tried specific drivers ? Think problem at present is trying to get Arduino drivers onto pc then it will allow me to open it and upload to board .
It may be fun for you to answer 1 or half a question at a time, but it isn't for me. If you would like help, it would help if you answered all of the questions put.
So:
Links to the actual board may help.
Sorry mate its not fun its doing my head in so much thinking of just changing the board to a naze 32 the board is on www.hobbyking/multiwii328p i do appreciate ur help
Right.
It claims to have an FTDI USB to serial converter.
Now you have that information (Which is also written on the board you have in your hand) you could do a quick google and that would show that the drivers are here.
Great mate many many thanx for ur help i will try this tomorrow !
No problem. Next time you ask for help, don't forget to read the whole reply, and answer all of it, it saves time all round! ![]()
