driving a 5A motor

hii... Actually i am using dc gear(12v-24v)(1A at no load )(5A at full load) motor in my conveyer..i have tried alot of drivers like l293D and l298N but they are not providing more than 2A current ....i have also tried TIP120,TIP140,IRF630N ,irf 9630...but they all are getting v hot if motors operates more than 1min....kindly suggest me Good logic level mosfet that is compatible with arduino ..i have choosen irl 2203
IRL2203 Datasheet..
i also want to know that driver ic with mosfet is compulory or not ??..

I have been using Infineon TLE5206 chips. The spec says they can provide 5 amps. They have overload and short circuit protection.

Alternatively buy a motor driver board that can handle the current you require. There is a range of them on the Pololu website.

Hi,
Do you need the belt to change direction?

What model Arduino are you using?

Can you please post a copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?

Thanks.. Tom..

No, that's no use, you need to tell us which motor you have. Datasheet? Product page? Anything? None of the specifications you've chosen to quote are the key one we need.
