driving motor base?

i got a robot kit for easter, and when you clapped, it moved... BORING >:P

so i took it's brain out and added some real power, arduino >:D.

but,arduino wont drive the base, and it only takes 1 volt to 7 volts to run :P.

so, how can i fix this?

p.s. i connected the motor to the power supply, and its both directional, backwards and forwrads
