Drop-down cntrld by arduino & IR-remote

Hello, I'm a beginner with arduino hard/software. I am making a schoolproject and thought I could get som help from this forum. The idea is to controll a drop-down (like the one I attached) using arduino and a IR-remote controll.

I will be using the BRAGE-SIP Y1.0 that I also attached.

What I want you guys to do is to find me the rest of the hardware I need to do this, since I do not really know myself what I need.

You will need a motor and means of attaching to the chain. Then there are limit switches so you know if it is up or down.

To receive the IR, you will need the receiver to read the output of the remote you plan to use.

Then you need a program. That is for you to do but we will help if you show you have made a reasonable ettempt to do it yourself.

Hi, I am guessing I need a pretty strong motor to roll up the entire drop-down? Do you have any idea of what type of motor that could be?

A motor with a gearbox is required. It is more torque than power. The gearbox will reduce the RPM and increase the torque.

Yeah I guessed so :confused: I really don't have money for that kind of motor.

I got this TITAN 12T550 motor from a traxxas stampede RC-car. Don't you thing this one will work if I put a big gear on the drop-down? Or won't the torque be enough anyways?
Really sorry for my slow answers, I have plenty of stuff to do besides this!

The motor looks like it runs at high speed and needs a gearbox to reduce it a lot.

I am not familiar with these types of motors.
