Drv8871 or similar

Hello Everyone, I am looking for a chip similar to the drv8871 but the price is too heavy. I want to use a motor driver as small as possible. Can I order the drv8870 and use a breadboard to wire it? The L298n is too big. Do you have other similar chips in mind? Thanks.

What is the rated voltage and stall current of your motor? Can't, intelligently, recommend a motor driver without knowing those specifications.

As far as I can tell the DRV8870 and DRV8871 drivers are identical. At 3.6A current, I would not use either with a solderless breadboard.

It is also ancient and inefficient crappy motor driver. There are much better drivers available.

Pololu has a good line of DC motor drivers. They have pages that cover the use of each of their products and stand behind what they sell.

Thanks!

Do You need both forward and reverse?
Else a logic level N channel MOSFET and 2 resistors would do fine. However, don't use breadboard.

Yes thanks I will use pcb.

A4988 stepper driver

Hi,
What is the application?
Is it a robot, 3D printer?
Why is there a space restriction?

Thanks.. Tom...

Thanks everyone for your prompt replies! the driver will be used for a train track turnout. I have selected the driver 8876 from polulu that it is cheap and it may address my constraints.
