Ds3231 RTC ALARMS How to?

Hi, I can't seem to wrap my head around how to set the alarms. The time I can. I know that the alarms first have to be enabled for the interrupt pin to work and also that it requires a pull up resistor on the interrupt pin. I have looked at all the youtube tuorials and read what I can find on the matter. But none of them that I have found go any further than just setting the time.

Am I supposed to set the alarm times at the same time I am setting up the day, date, time. or do I just need to enable alarms?

Then do a match time in the sketch for the project that I place the RTC in and let the match time trigger the interrupt?

Once you've set the time in the DS3231 the chip keeps the correct time as long as it has power. You can also set an alarm time. Once the time stored in the alarm registers is reached the interrupt pin is pulled low. it's up to your and your circuit to react on that.

Most libraries for the DS3231 include methods to set the two alarm times. As you forgot to provide a link to the library you're using I cannot tell you how it's done with your library.
