Duemilanove Upload Error

Hi,
I just received an Arduino Starter kit containing a Arduino Duemilanove. As soon as I received the kit I plugged it into my computer (iMac G5 1.8 GHZ processor, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, Mac OS X 10.4.11, Arduino software version 012) using the included USB cable. Once it was connected I attempted to upload the Blink sample sketch. When I pressed the upload to I/O board button after 5-10 seconds I received an error stating the following:

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

After I saw the error I proceeded to try multiple things in an attempt to fix it. I checked everything on the Arduino troubleshooting page, restarting the program, restarting my computer, and pressing the reset button in various increments before upload to the board. I would really appreciate if anyone knew how to fix this or even had a guess. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had the same error. I realized that I had set it on the wrong serial port. You should see the TX and RX leds flash when your successfully uploading.
