DUINOKIT JR

I brought Duinokit Jr for my child. Is this kit certified by Arduino? Is this the right way to introduce a child to electronics/programming?? If not how should i start ...i want my child to learn this technology. Thnx

It received 4/5 on Amazon which is a good sign.

This kit is not endorsed by Arduino if that is what you mean by "certified".

You just have to start somewhere.

Agree with ieee488.

Many people start with clones simply because of the price.
Looked at the kit you chose and Have to say it looks quite good as a stater kit as it pretty much all stays in the case so not many loose bits to lose or flop around causing shorts.

Yours looks more like a well put together piece of equipment.

thanks a lot. I am trying to learn so that I can get my child to pick up this stuff.... the unit comes with a battery pack. I thought the cable powers the board? the usb/mini usb cable. i think i should try to power up with the cable and check and then maybe connect the battery??

The board should also power off the USB but also a wall mounted power pack too with a 9V PP3 adaptor
Batteries dont tend to last very long or have a sustainable current unless they are rechargeable.

Usually I would recommend something in the 7-10 volt range with at least 1 amp to give you a little wiggle room But with this you should ensure it is 9 volt 1 amp.

When you have the IDE installed on your computer is should show up as an Arduino NANO under whatever COM port it chooses.

Good luck with it.
