Duo arduino

Hey, guys, i have an arduino dicamila(sry for the spelling) and i was wondering if i could combine 2 atmega 168 chips to get some more eeprom. like putting 2 chips on top of each other? I dont know. Please help...

Someone built a batch a while back, the forum post is http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1205243372/0

It’s not as simple as “putting 2 chips on top of each other”. It has the two chips communicating via SPI. It provides a lot more IO, an extra USART, as well as second thread of control.

If all you want is more EEPROM though, why don’t you use a serial eeprom chip?

from sparkfun gives you 256kbits for $2 in an 8-pin package.

something is just wrong with the link....

Fixed, try it now.

i there a tutorial on how to use this... thanks great link!

Can i use this with out a microprocessor

It's a serial EEPROM, without a microprocessor, what will send the serial commands to store and retreive data?

If you haven't found it yet, I'm pretty sure there's a tutorial in the playground.

okay i get it now thanks so much!!!
