Good evening all,
Apologies if this thread is improperly placed in the form.
To business, I'm currently working on a project that is going to make use of a MEGA 2560, a board I'm working on designing, and a shield for the Arduino.
Eagle has been a process to pick up over the last couple of days (thank God I've used CAD), and thus far I believe I have reached the one point I can't solve.
In order to facilitate this picked up a D-247 protoboard from Electronics Salon (I'll attached images for reference) and regrettably I was unable to find a library for this. Due to this I've set about recreating it in the device manager. I've run into a single snag which are the internally connected pads (also to be attached).
As can be seen in the reference drawings, the PCB shield has several connected pins (those which carry signal/power/etc) from the header pins of the arduino over to their respective mates on the protoboard.
I cannot figure out how to make this connection internally in the device manager to save my life. Given that I use these boards rather frequently, I'd like to both have this device for my own later use as well as something I can submit to the community to give some form of repayment for all the help I've received. Perhaps save someone the same headache.
What I'd like to know:
- Is it possible to correctly connect/label/note this connection in the device creation manager?
-- If so, how so?
-- If not, what would be the best practice for ensuring this is noted to be done in schematics?
I was attempting to add the images into the post so that I could show the breakdown of each example but I'm having a bit of trouble.
Example 1 (pcbscreen1-1) shows the view of no changes, I've named the pins but made no changes.
Example 2 (pcbscreen 2) shows the same view, here I have used the line tool (altering layer to top or bottom respectively) and made "connections" through this. I do no believe this is correct but I'm no expect.
Example 3 (pcbscreen 3) shows the board as a whole.
The other attached images are the board images from the mfg as per it's overview, top nets, and bottom nets. The items I'm trying to connect.
Thank you for any input,
Cheers,
Vespen
