What are you hoping to get that you can't find off the shelf?
Note: it is extremely unlikely that anyone capable can do this for less than the cost of an off the shelf EFIS.

No but I did build a Velocity standard rg. I sold that plane about 20 years ago.
Now I'm working on an rv6. But I'm a fiberglass man, I'm going to build composite wings for the six.
You're correct about the budget. I found an awesome EFIS for $1,800.
