I have this Elecrow board that I wish to use for a project. I have tried following the manual from their wiki SIM5360E 3G Shield - Elecrow but the board will not respond to AT commands.
Has anyone successfully used this break out board. Kindly help me figure out how to set it up.

Their wiki is pretty clear about what needs to be done.

What are you doing?

Hi
I have connected it just like in the Wiki, mounted the SIM 5360 onto the UNO. Not sure if the USB power through the UNO is sufficient or it requires external power supply. Also not sure if when I select the software serial I should further have jumpers from D7 & D8 connecting to the board, and if so, from what pins on the SIM 5360?

Problem solved.
Seems the SIM 5360 shield requires some "jolt".
To do this, remove the jumpers from the software serial. Cross connect GSM serial with the Hardward Serial using female - female jumpers
Upload the blink example code available on the Arduino IDE to your Arduino
Open serial monitor/ the serial monitor recommended by Elecrow, set the baud rate to 115200, then press the power up button for 3 seconds.
Observe the output and proceed issuing the AT commands.
Almost 2 Years Later and this post is pure gold!!
It would have taken me ages to deduce, instead 1 hour of surfing the web and following your instructions did the trick.
I will print this and make an altar for it
