I want to build a circuit that takes input from outside audio, most likely my speakers, and then turns it into an RGB LED light show.
Different frequencies produce different colors and and different volumes produce brighter lights.
Can I buy and wire in just this once piece and have it work? Or does the signal need to be amplified before use?
Or should I just wire in the audio signal from my computer and skip the mic altogether? (I would just use a normal audio out jack and run the wiring into my system, which I have done for another project)
It looks like it but post the question to them on ebay. It could be that there is a peak envelope detector built in but unless it is in the chip I can't see any components that would do that.
