Electric Bell Using Arduino

I just wanted to know if it is possible to switch the output on and off fast enough to drive the mechanism of a standard electric bell i.e the electromagnet to pull the hammer to hit the gong when output is high and the spring to pull back the hammer when the output is low.

It is possible to switch a digital pin on and off very quickly. Determining the time between turning it on, and turning it off, and between turning it off and turning it back on is for you to determine experimentally.
