What are these things called? And what would be the best and safest way to connect them. I don't want to solder anything. Should I just do the unstripped part around it?
Solder terminals?
Solder your wires direct to them.
Oh. Ok.
That method would conflict with "best and safest way".
If you don't want to solder to them, then you might be able to find some narrow spade connectors that you could crimp onto your cables. They may push fit onto the terminals.
Why the dislike of soldering ?
If you don't have a soldering iron then even a cheap one and some solder would be a good investment
If you do have a soldering iron and solder then you need practice
The technical term is 'solder lug'.
There is something called a Quick Disconnect.
The wires are normally crimped-on so you need a crimping tool.
The "standard size" is 1/4-inch and the smallest I've seen fits a blade-width of 0.187-inch = 3/16ths = 4.7mm. They might make them smaller but I haven't really looked.
Take up knitting instead. ![]()
