EM-406A TTL to USB cable?

Hey guys, I have a quick question...I'm asking it here because for some reason I haven't received my activation e-mail from the USGlobalSat forums. Anyway...

I know the EM-406A works on 3V TTL logic, so do you guys think this cable: http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/EvaluationKits/TTL-232R-3V3.htm would work to hook up the GPS to the computer via USB? I would just cut the header off and re-wire the connector for the EM-406.

Here's the spec sheet: http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/DataSheets/Modules/DS_TTL232R3V3.pdf

Was gonna say, connect the FT232R's vIO to 3.3v instead of 5v and there you go, but it appears that that's what that particular cable already does - should be perfect.

Ok cool. To me it seemed like it would work, but I just wanted a second opinion. I'm doing a senior design project for college which uses GPS, and I need to set some settings on it to turn off some of the messages and enable WAAS. $20 is a whole lot better than the $40 eval board on sparkfun. I'll post back if it works, so other people can do the same.
