Emacs interfacing

Hello,

So far, I have been unable to compile any program using emacs. I have the emacs-mode package installed under ~/.emacs.d/vendor under Ubuntu 13.10. My account is member of the dialout group. My .bashrc and .emacs are below.

.bashrc:

Arduino

export ARDUINO_DIR=/usr/share/arduino
export ARDMK_DIR=/usr
export AVR_TOOLS_DIR=/usr
export BOARD=atmega168

.emacs:
;; ARDUINO MODE
(add-to-list 'load-path "~/.emacs.d/vendor/arduino-mode")
(setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("\.\(pde\|ino\)$" . arduino-mode) auto-mode-alist))
(autoload 'arduino-mode "arduino-mode" "Major mode for editing Arduino." t)
;; change the compile-mode for arduino
(setq compile-command "~/.bashrc; make -e -k")

When I try to compile and upload with C-c . U it asks: Which Arduino/l indentation style? What is that? The file codeset is U.

The The Arduino IDE is installed, compiles and upload fine. Any suggestions?

TIA,

Sigmatech
