Emulate a LM3911 temperature sensor with a DAC?

Hi All,

I want to emulate an LM3911 temperature sensor with a DAC. Resolution is 10mV / degree K, or about 3mV / degree F, in the circuit designed for its use.

I believe I can do it with an MCP4725, but its maximum reference voltage is 5.5v and that will only get to around 105 degrees F.

Is there another, similar DAC available that will work at a higher reference voltage? Or is there a better way to do this?

The output voltage must be precise.

Thanks in advance.

According to the LM3911 datasheet that temperature sensor can be used at up to 85°C.

At 85°C (= 185°F, = 358K) the output is 3.58V typical,

An MCP4725 can easily output this voltage.

Thank you. I'll try it.
