EN pin on 433mhz rf transmitter

I am building a security alarm system that uses a 433mhz rf transmitter from amazon. I am trying to use it with a HT12E rf encoder to communicate with a control box. The transmitter has an EN pin (enable?) that other modules don't seem to have. What is this for?

How is that pin described in the HT12E docs?

the pin isnt on the ht12e its on the transmitter

The HT12E docs do indeed describe such a pin. Check them out!

ok!

the holtek datasheet doesn't seem to reference it. what sheet are you looking at?

Holtek HT12E data sheet

For building a functional, reliable security alarm system, undocumented modules from Amazon may not be the best starting point.

yeah!
