ENC28J60 as ethernet to SPI bridge

Hello

i have one question.
can i use the ENC28J60 as SPI bridge ?
i don't know if this is possible.
i have temperature Sensor with SPI interface.

can i use the ENC26j60 to get the data from this temperature sensor without using
arduino.

if not then please share your knowledge. which chip i can use like Ethernet to SPI bridge.

i also need to use the vb.net to communicate to the temperature sensor.

Most probably the module acts as a SPI slave only, so that you need a SPI master that initiates data transfers. Then an Arduino can act as a SPI master, which reads data from the sensor slave, and sends it to the Ethernet slave. Only the master can know, when and how many bytes to read and write, this information resides in your sketch.
