End-of-course sensors with delay in circuit without a microcontroller

Hey, I’m trying to measure two end-of-course sensors without a microcontroller.

They trigger in alternated pulses (sensor 1 pulses, then 2, then 1 again) and I’m trying to detect whenever 1 doesn’t trigger at all. Any ideas where to begin? I’ve been thinking about using a RS Flip-Flop, so that sensor 1 would reset and sensor 2 would set, but then I need an analog delay and have no idea how to do so…

An RC network can provide a delay. Something with the good old 555 could also be an option.
