engines and calculations for quadcopter

Hi guys,

I would like build a quadcopter but I'm new on this world..I want buy 4 engines (brushless) and ESC..but I don't know how search in terms of engine's current, battery and so on..in few words I don't know how to dimension engines and ESC knowing only the weigth (1 kg max).
