Error: avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 10 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x4b

Hello everyone!!
I am trying to program my Atmega 328p on breadboard.
I have already gone through the process given on https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoToBreadboard.

I did not try and upload bootloader to my MCU since I am using one which came directly from Arduino uno.

I downloaded breadboard folder given on the above link and copied it to my hardware folder.
I made the connection as given on the link and triple checked it.
But still I am getting following error:
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 10 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x4b

Please please please help me!!! I have spent 2-3 days on this problem. I cant seem to find any solution.

Post a photo of your setup. It's not totally clear what you are doing, the link you posted talk about 2 different situation, using a 16 Mhz crystal or using internal 8 Mhz without crystal. In first case you don't need to use any particolar hardware folder, just use it like normal arduino UNO, in the second you have to burn a different bootloader.
