Error: Could not find Java 2 runtime environment

Just got the board today. Downloaded Ardunio software and Installed Java fron Sun. USB sees the device.
Running Windows XP - I haven't found any mention of anyone else having this problem.
A heck of a way to start out...
Any help would be appreciated.

loaded the usb then the serial driver ?
eg make sure you have a coms port it can connect too.

Duh!
I didn't extract the *.zip file correctly (didn't preserve the file paths)
Working fine now.
