I keep getting this error. Whats going on?
Error: Executing command: exec: not started
I have not got a clue.
Bit hard to come up with answers when a question has almost zero details.
So to put you on the right track..This section is for the ONLINE editor and this thread should give a you a few hints about setting up your question to get a response.
I am trying to upload blink from examples. I keep getting... Error: Executing command: exec: not started.
I was doing fine and it was working for me but stopped. I have the drivers installed and everything seems to be in order. I cant upload anything.. Very frustrated please help!

It lays out the type of information anyone would need in order to provide a decent answer.
If you really don't want to provide the types of information that are needed that's fine I will just move along.
At least provide us with OS, browser and board you are trying to upload to.
HP Pavilion dv7 laptop
Windows 7 premium
Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit)
Elegoo uno R3

Every time I try to upload the simple sketch blink I get this; Executing command: exec: not started
I have opened my device manager and it says that the device is working properly and the drivers are up to date. I've done everything I know of and still get the message.
I hope this is enough information to get some help. I'm at my wits end have a lot riding on getting this to work. I just need help.

you say you are using the desktop IDE.
This section is specific to the ONLINE editor.
If you want I will ask that it be moved to the correct "DESKTOP" section.
May I ask what antivirus you are currently running as some do cause issues with Arduino software ?
Also which version of the desktop IDE ?
I had the same issue. I solved it by going to Tools -> Board -> Board Manager
search for Arduino Uno and install an older version driver
