Error Exit Status One for everything!?

I’m getting an Exit Status one for every sketch I try and upload even the bare minimum. Do I need to do something to my board???

void setup() {
// put your setup code here, to run once:

}

void loop() {
// put your main code here, to run repeatedly:

}

Are you sure you are in the correct section of the forum ?

This error happens when I'm using the cloud editor....

Hopefully we can get some more information if you post the full output:

  • Hover the mouse over the red bar that shows the error message. Click and drag it up so you can see the black console window.
  • Click the icon in the top right corner of the console that looks like two pieces of paper.
  • Paste the error in a message here USING CODE TAGS (</> button on the toolbar).

Why haven’t you done what I asked you to on the other thread?

  1. What type of USB port are you using USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 ?
  2. Which specific board are you trying to program ?
  3. Are you using a USB HUB ?
  4. What security do you currently have installed on the computer ?
  5. Have you tried different USB cables ?
  6. What OS is on the computer specifically
  7. Have you made any changes to the COM ports in device manager ?

The create agent seems to be the current one according to your log

  1. 3.0
  2. UNO R3
  3. No
  4. Only windows defender
  5. No....I'll dig out another one
  6. Windows 10 8 NO

Ok there is a very good chance it is a USB 3.0 issue.

Swap to USB 2.0 and ensure you are using a USB 2.0 lead too. If you only have USB 3.0 ports then quite often putting a POWERED USB 2.0 HUB between the USB 3.0 port and the Arduino often fixes the issue.

Do that first and please report back.

So got a USB 2.0 Cable and a USB 2.0 Port. Still got exit Status one with the following code

Most odd...This one may have to wait until Monday and Im sorry its not seeing to work for you just at the moment.

Although unlikely do you have the means to re flash the bootloader ?

Another thought...do you have the regular IDE installed ? If so you could try pressing RESET just as it goes into upload from the regular IDE but make sure you have something like blink or bare minimum as the sketch.

@SteveWilbury are you still experiencing these issues? Could you please try with another board if you happen to have one? It would be also great if you can try to upload the same sketch with the Desktop IDE and see if you still encounter the same issue. Thanks!
