Error including a link (tag)

Some times when I include a link with the iurl tag, and I post it, the link is posted with an error

instead of save this:

page

it saves:

page

I can only solve this with the "quick edit" mode, would be good if you can look on it.

When you use the "insert link" icon, it pre fills with text that needs to be removed to insert the pasted link correctly.

I have my preferences set so that I always use the editor in source mode. No problems with inserting links.

Interestingly, Firefox strips off the http:// part, so copying an address and pasting in the Link box results in perfect links.

weedpharma I noted that, but it's not the problem, I didn't removed the pre fill the result should be like

page

and not

page

And if you manually correct it in the "full" and source view mode, and you save it, the problem returns again. I think the tags has a filter who is not working correctly

Some times works removing the quotes and the first http:// others times works removing all the http://

Robin2 as you said is a preference thing, I like to use the icons tags, and as I think, they are there because is another option that I can use.

PaulS I haven't tried that in chrome, I'm not sure if it work, but it should be the same.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding. I have the editor set to source mode but I use the icon "buttons" to create the links.

I understand now, I don't know if it avoid this bug, because it's not happening always and I saw in github that there is other report with the same problem Post URL in forum discussion · Issue #197 · arduino/forum-issues · GitHub

I have found an interesting difference in inserting links.

Some time ago I had a problem when I selected the insert link icon it caused the whole browser to shut down. I was told to select the far right icon to select a different mode for the editor.

This stopped the crash and brought up a window that was pre loaded with "http:/". This had to be removed to work when pasting a link.

I have just tried again without changing the mode. It did not crash and opened a window to paste the link and it all looked OK.

Maybe there has been a change.
