Hey
I tried to download the SAMD Boards for my Arduino Nano 33 IoT, but in my board manager there are just the AVR Boards.
There was an error which said:
Error downloading https://downloads.arduino.cc/packages/package_index.json
In a former forum post i saw an similar problem.
So I tried to follow the steps from the post, but it said i need to update an package index, but there was nothing to update.
I'm going to ask you to post some additional information that might help us to identify the problem.
Please do this:
- Close all Arduino IDE windows.
- Start the Arduino IDE. (this restart was done to get a blank console pane)
- Select Tools > Board > Boards Manager from the Arduino IDE's menus.
- After you get that "Error downloading..." message, click the Close button.
- Click on the black console pane at the bottom of the Arduino IDE window.
- Press Ctrl+A to select all the text.
- Press Ctrl+C to copy the selected text to the clipboard.
- Open a forum reply here by clicking the Reply button.
- Click the
</>icon on the post composer toolbar. This will add the forum's code block markup (```) to your reply to make sure the error messages are correctly formatted.
- Press Ctrl+V. This will paste the compilation output into the code block.
- Move the cursor outside of the code block markup before you add any additional text to your reply.
- Click the Reply button to post the output.

This is the Error i have, could it be that my java version is the problem?

I see these are all outdated versions. I am wondering if the Arduino Boards Manager is not able to delete the folders for some reason after it updates to the new version. If so, they might just be empty folders. I've seen that before.
It's possible that could be caused by your antivirus software interfering with the folder removal process,
To fix this, you can manually delete the following folders:
